Hey guys! Nestly here.
First off, just wanted to apologize as this news post was meant to be announced weeks ago, but due to everything in my life, it’s been pushed back for one reason or another. That’s life for ya!
I’m here to announce some news about approvals and how they will be changed from here out, as well as clear the air about some misunderstandings that have been happening underneath the surface of this group, its members, and staff alike.

First of all, Approvals!
Unfortunately, we’re at the point now where approvals are simply not feasible to maintain on a regular basis as we are. Yes, I could hire more Helpers, and yes I could demand more work from all of our current staff. But I think we all work pretty darn well as a team, and decided on a different strategy that I think will be much more manageable.

From now on, during our OPEN months. (October, December, January, March, May, June, tentatively) we will be open for MYOs one day per each month we are open. These days will vary and rely heavily on when staff are available, but we will also try to pull from the members as well to pick the best days for everyone.

I think the anniversary, although daunting, went very well, as staff were able to band together all at once and kick some ass! With everyone working like clockwork to get through approvals, I find us most efficient when several of us are all online at once. And to continue this productive pace, is the reason I made this choice. The other reason is I want new members to be able to be focused on right away, and get in fast. I really don’t like when people have to wait several days on hearing back from an application.
We can then focus on all other aspects of the group during the rest of the month as well! (more events, prompts, new things and such!)

Approval Opening Date: Friday, October 20th
On this day, you’ll need to have your approval all ready to go and submit the link to your deviation here: wyngro.deviantart.com/journal/…

The Approved Adult before your second MYO Wyngling rule is now gone!
Previously, you needed to grow your first wyngling up before being able to make a new wyngling. Because of our limited openings now, this rule is no longer in effect! We only ask that brand new members make one wyngro at a time so they can learn from the process!

What about purchased wynglings or eggs? (bred babies) Will those have to wait too?
No, those are not MYOS! They are purchased/bred wynglings. ;) Those always stay open and can be approved here.

I know several people were very excited to make a Wyngling and get it approved on October 1st, and I sincerely apologize if we have ruined your plans. This is not something I am excited to implement, but something necessary in order to keep myself and my staff functioning and alive. I hope that you can understand the need for this change and am not expecting anyone to be happy about it. This group is popular and I can’t thank the members enough for their interest in Wyngro, but I have to make the hard decisions in order to keep it sustainable. Thank you for understanding.

Check out the Newbie Chat Here!

All new members! If you would like to chat and get to know other members in our group, we have a dedicated Discord ‘Newbie Channel’ where all are welcome to come on in and ask any questions you may have about our group beforehand!

You won’t be able to see the rest of the Discord Channels before your wyngling is officially approved into the group (at that point you can use the Registration Channel to get full access), so don’t panic if it looks pretty empty in there at first! Take your time, familiarize yourself with our Discord Rules, and have fun getting to know some of our members!

Member Bans, Rumors, and Criticism
From rumors to members getting banned for “no reason” or for just “speaking their mind”, to people saying I’m a corrupt, terrible, person, (as well as other incredibly insulting names. Yes, I’ve heard them all) I want to talk about this openly. I never once intended to hide anything, but I do intend to be professional and not dive into the drama.
It can be very hard NOT to defend yourself, especially over the internet. The internet is a really funny place. You’d say things about people that you would never say in person, and it can make people (especially popular people) seem like robots. This happens all the time with celebrities, youtube personalities, and anyone with any sort of status symbol on the internet.
What I want to talk about, is a simple reminder to think before you say something about someone, whether it be to their face or behind their back. (so to speak) Because despite what you may think about that person, whether they deserve it or not, they are still a person that has feelings. When you say something cruel about another person, it says something about your character most of all. I want to inspire people to not only be creative here, but to better themselves and have a positive outlook as well. I always have. Remember that perfection is impossible within the eyes of everyone, and try to really get to know someone before you judge them.

In short, I know I’m a good person who is doing the best I can, and if ya’ll call me conceited for having that confidence, then I think you need to take a hard look at yourself first.

Let’s talk about member bans!
Despite frustrated members who throw around screenshots, claim to have been banned or warned for one thing, or whatever else you may have heard-- I want to assure everyone that we do not ban people for just one small offense. We take consideration from several instances, and we have a system.
But mostly, I want to talk about the difference between speaking your mind, and intentionally causing drama.

Speaking your mind and posting things on public spaces about strong feelings you have are appreciated, even if we do not respond all the time. During the “Slot purge” journal, we had several members express displeasure and none of them got a strike, warning, or ban, for example.

Now when you take that to the next level, whether it be by stirring up drama and rumors on a public server, posting screen-shots publically and/or encouraging other members to “spread the word”, you have just entered “drama territory” and that’s when things get out of hand. Now you have this “mob mentality” where it becomes a fun game to bash someone, vent, and just stir up unconstructive criticism.

This is when it goes from “trying to help” to just plain “being hateful”. This is what I will not stand for and will cut out the toxicity from the group if a member steps into this realm. So speak your mind, but do not promote drama and mob mentalities.

Anonymity!
Heeeey, remember this?
freesuggestionbox.com/pub/htri…

I’m still taking questions for my ASK video I’ll be doing soon! (Soon as my VOICE comes back, that is!) This is a completely anonymous form, so you can use this to express yourself or ask a sensitive question you might be too shy to ask otherwise. What better way to hear an answer to a sensitive topic then to see a video of me talking about it personally?
I will not pay attention to accounts made solely to hide your identity and promote drama. So please do not waste your time. Instead, use this anonymous form, or note/Discord message me personally if you are having sensitive issues with another staff member. I will always be willing to help!

Staff Perks
There have been some bitterness towards staff members that I feel are completely unwarranted, and I wanted to remind people that while artists get paid for their adoptable art that get sold, the rest of their time is volunteered. Staff do not get “everything for free”, as has been rumored. They actually pay for all designs and work a TON for the perks they do get. We have limits on what each staff member can claim as well. So please be considerate when this comes up.

Journal wrap up!
We have a lot of new things coming soon, and are excited to get working on them! I want to drop a small hint that our annual “Warptide” event will be very different this year, and not fall within the same timeframe as it has previous years, so please don’t freak out when the 1st rolls around and no Warptide event is posted. ;)

That being said, thank you all again for reading this massive wall of text and being such cool members. I want to encourage everyone to not only have a voice, but also use it to be constructive, rather than bring someone down. I know I can seem scary to approach, but I’m really not, so feel free to discord message/DA note me anytime you have questions or concerns! (I can’t help you if you don’t!)

And now I’m going back to bed. *HACKcoughHACK*

I'm a brand new hopeful member-to-be that's been avidly reading through all the info you guys have, and just want to say I'm very excited to join the community! :)
It's good to know that I'll need to wait until December to get started, this journal answered a lot of the questions I've had. Looking forward to the future! <3
