RULES! YAY! ...Wait.
We’ve been noticing some things recently that we thought would be worth an official post about to help people participate in this group! So see below for some new rules, as well as some refreshers.
(OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCESSSSSS!)

Never, EVER Delete your Approval Images
Always a good one to remind people about. Deleting the deviation with your wyngro’s wyngling approval essentially wipes them from existence and also does NOT clear out one of your MYO slots. So use scraps and storage instead!

Please Note the Group if you Change your Username
We use Google Charts to organize the tracker and shop purchases. Name changes unfortunately make this really difficult when we are trying to look you up, so please just note the group if you change your username!

It is NOT Necessary to Note the Group if you Change your Wyngro’s Name
If you want to change your Wyngro’s name, we discourage it, but you are welcome to do it without needing to note the group or apply some kind of name upgrade. Just go for it. Just remember we will always look them up by their original given name, so make sure you remember what that first name was in case we need to look them up. (Or edit your original deviation noting the name change)

Magic Glands, All Wyngrew Need Them!
Remember to add a thick black marking behind your wyngro’s eyes! You cannot count wyns for deviations they are missing them! (Everyone forgets sometimes! So we send reminders as needed)

Regarding Personal Subspecies NPCS
Please remember that personal NPCs are to be kept very minimal within the Wyngro gallery and should only exist as minor background characters.  This is to avoid people creating fully fleshed out unofficial characters, rather than fleshing out the wyngrew they have officially. Unofficial NPCS can never earn wyns.

Please do not create subspecies NPCs! (Or in the very least, leave them out of the group gallery.) Wyngro subspecies have very specific roles, and many portrayals would simply not make sense using them.

Mini Modding
We know you all want to help your fellow members! That’s awesome! But in doing so, please keep these tips in mind:
-ALWAYS say something nice first! Comment on the art itself. Nothing is more discouraging than when you first join a group, post your first image, and go to check that new comment,  only to find it’s negative and only telling you what you did wrong. :(
So instead of, “You can’t do that.”, say, “Hey I really like your art style! Your character is super cute and I love how you drew the ___. Keep in mind though that the group rules prevent you from doing ____. I hope that helps!”

-Please don’t answer/provide feedback if you’re unsure. It can cause a lot of confusion!
-Report issues to the group! If you don’t want to butt in, but still appear helpful, then just shoot us a note and link the issue you find. We’ll take care of it!
-If a member tells you something about rules, remember that if they are not on staff, there is no 100% certainty they are correct. You are always welcome to check with us through noting the group or the wyngro discord channel for clarity! (You will only ever have to make an edit to your drawing if an official staff member tells you to.)

Our official staff members will always use a bolded Mod Message: before each comment, so that’s how you can tell. In addition, all of our staff members can be found on our about page and on the front page's sidebar.  Any regular member using the mod message tag will get a temp ban.

Regarding Mod Messages you Receive
Wyngro has a lot of rules, so you might get a mod message every now and then. That’s okay! You’re not a “bad member”, so chill. ;)  However, if you do, make sure you reply back to your mod message and DO NOT ignore it! Sometimes we’re simply reminding you of things for the future. All you have to do is reply back, letting us know you understand.

Sometimes, a mod message will ask you to make edits to your wyn count or deviation. You’ll need to make these edits and reply back once they’re made. We appreciate good communication to keep this community fair and rewarding for everyone!

Lastly, DO NOT DELETE a deviation that receives a mod message in order to avoid it. This will result in a warning!

Trading Eggs in the Trading Post
Please note that in order to trade eggs in the trading post, you must provide the “mother image” in order for it to be tradable. This “mother image” needs to be drawn by the artist who owns the mother. Because of incidents of members leaving the group or getting banned before this image is drawn-- if you have received a bred egg from a trade BEFORE THIS JOURNAL, you are not obliged to follow this rule and are able to get your wyngro egg approved normally without waiting for the mother image.

However, from here on out it will be required to post the mother image with your egg trade so all egg trades will be secure and completed.

We also want to make it clear that anyone who is gifted or traded an egg is in no way obligated to follow the traders wishes for plot and character development. Once that egg is yours, it’s your character and you may do as you like. Please just use common sense and collab with people you trust and know. (AKA: Don’t use the trading post if you want the owner to follow your storylines. There's always the chance that they won't.)

The Only Available Town Right Now is Wynsiph
While we are working hard on getting more towns up and running, we want to remind everyone that Wynsiph currently is the only community your wyngro can live in. So make sure you don't have them travel to any unreleased or made-up towns until more information is released!  Living in the woods near wynsiph is okay too, just don't send your wyngro off to another yet.

Unofficial Wyngro Groups/Spin-offs
We’ve been noticing a trend that seems to be happening where members of Wyngro are making their own groups specifically for hosting unofficial events/classes, such as dancing and martial arts. A lot of members have asked how we feel about this, and what the rules regarding them are! So let’s talk about that here now.

-To Those Making the Groups:
Can you? Sure, we don’t mind! But should you? Think about the responsibilities in hosting and organizing. Is this something you’ll have time for? Will you be able to organize several people? Just make sure you plan things out before doing it on a whim!

-You are Not Allowed to Charge Any Sort of Currency for your Groups.
Please note that making your own classes and charging money is not allowed. This competes with the main group and also puts us under responsibility if things go wrong, and we’d rather keep things under control regarding this. Do not do this or penalties from the main group will occur to your account.

-Please Keep to the Lore of Wyngro and Do Not Encourage OOC/Noncanon Activity
While making spinoff groups sounds super fun, we’ve been hearing the ideas that people have and a lot of them wouldn’t make sense canonically, in the world of Wyngro or just in the town of Wynsiph itself. Remember, your wyngro can only live in Wynsiph right now. (A farming town), so it’s a bit limited in terms of world you can explore. (Don’t worry, we plan to expand as soon as we can manage!)

-To Members Wanting to Join Said Groups:
Wyngro spin-off groups are NOT OFFICIAL. Art drawn for these groups  cannot gain wyns, qualify for upgrade requirements, or apply new upgrades unless they are also submitted to the official Wyngro group gallery and follow our gallery rules. Any new historical events, items, locations, or other such things that were created by a spin-off group will not be considered a part of the official lore, so be careful if your images bring unofficial content into the group.  It might disagree with the canonical lore!

It's also important to remember that these groups are NOT officially moderated by the main Wyngro group, and we cannot help you.

How to Avoid Drama. (OOC Portrayals, Miscommunications, & General Disagreements)

“My friend quit Wyngro suddenly and now I don’t know what to do with my characters plot!”
“This person donated their design and that character was involved in a relationship with my wyngro. What do I do now?”
“I got into an argument with so-and-so and now they won’t honor the trade we agreed on. Please help!”
"Someone used my character in a way I think was OOC!"

There’s no guidebook to 100% avoiding drama, it happens sometimes. Sometimes you’ll get involved with another artist and they’ll go inactive. They may lose interest in the carefully crafted story you made with them. The may disagree on a major plot point, and things suddenly go south. These kinds of situations are unavoidable, so it's important to know what to do when this happens. (Spoiler: Drama is never the answer)

-Be Upfront
Tell people how you feel, but in a straightforward way void of insinuations. Is someone making you uncomfortable? Tell them they are making you uncomfortable. Are they not taking a hint? Being weird or otherwise not meshing with you? Just tell them you’d prefer not communicating anymore and would rather move on. However, while being upfront is good for communication, it's important to remember that people make mistakes! Avoid insulting the person you are talking to in the event that they ruined your elaborate wyngro plot.  Try to keep things from getting personal, lest you tempt the hands of fate towards stirring up drama.

-Ditch the Old Plans and Get Creative
It’s hard when another artist runs in and ruins all of your carefully laid plans, but there's always new ideas to be had if one doesn't go the way you expected! Who knows, maybe this change could take your character down a much more interesting path in the end.  Even if you find yourself at a loss for new ideas, there's always plenty of people in the wyngro discord who would love to discuss new plot ideas with you.  Just remember, having a wildcard get thrown into your story doesn't have to be the end of your character's story, it could be the beginning of something entirely new!

-People Using Your Character OOC
Hey man, it happens! Not everyone know your character inside and out like you do. Instead of complaining about giftart, just say "thank you" and move on.
If someone uses your character in a way you do not like, simply disregard it, or politely tell them you'd rather not go in that direction if they bring it up. Otherwise, it's giftart and it only needs a thank you. Remember that even if people misrepresent your character, they are only coming from a good place because they must really admire your character-making skills!

-Block and Ignore People if They Harass You
If someone is being an asshole and won't leave you alone, the best option might be to just block them and move on. Arguing with someone on the internet never amounts to anything good. It may seem difficult to drop an upsetting situation and ignore it, but sometimes it's the best option you have. It may seem difficult, it might seem terribly rude, but the internet is a very big place. If you run into one person you don't get along with, there's no reason to hang around and make yourself miserable talking to them. It's best to simply leave the situation and move on to nicer people and friendlier things.

-Causing Drama May Come With Consequences
Wyngro is a drama-free zone, and we’re very strict on this aspect, as it helps create a pleasant experience for all members. Bad apples will be cut from the group if they continue to cause drama within the community after they have been warned. This includes activity within our Discord server and the DeviantArt community.  Wyngro staff will not get involved in drama themselves, but if you are going through the community being unpleasant and rude to other members, you may be punished.  Please try to be considerate when talking to other people in the group!

Harassment and Shaming Those Who Spend/Make Money on Art/Wyngro
Now it’s time to get serious here. As a lot of you know, I am very prideful on artists being able to make a decent sum of money for the time they spend on their art. I believe artists should always get supported and valued. I am firmly against underpricing art, devaluing artists, and especially SHAMING artists who manage to make it on top and start making a decent wage for it. It saddens me that this topic is even needing to be brought up, and I’m ashamed of several people who have been creating waves like this, so let me make this perfectly crystal clear:

If we find members of our group SHAMING other members for supporting Wyngro and spending money on adopts/items/etc, you will get a severe warning.

If we find you criticising, making fun of, or otherwise being negative towards the fact that a member has purchased things, this will no longer be tolerated, as it is considered belittling/bullying! This includes private messages, replies, and Discord messages. Seriously. Just don’t be an asshole.
Likewise, please do not complain about prices. ANYWHERE! If you don’t like an artist's prices for something, you can swallow your frustrations and just NOT buy it. Remember that our artists work really hard for the art they create, and a lot of effort goes on behind the scenes as well that you can’t see.

Do NOT harass people who buy adopts just because they got them before you. The adopts are first come first serve, and to treat someone poorly or make them feel bad for managing to claim one first is unfair and petty.

If you or someone you know has been harassed by another member, we encourage you bring it to our attention so that we can understand what is going on, and take appropriate actions if needed.

Welp that was a real super fun journal to read! Right? Sorry but the group is growing and these things need to be stated. Thank you for those who did actually read this far.

More fun stuff soon! :D

Having such specific drawing regulations that you HAVE to get it right or you don't get any credit is actually really DISCOURAGING to me, and I bet others, too. That's why I usually don't draw any wyngro, so, not really inspiring me to draw anything.
